My friends have described me as a renaissance man, I dabble in a lot of different arts, and spend a great deal of time practicing several. My primary artistic pastime has always been drawing, and over the last couple of years has gone completely the way of digital drawing, ever since I discovered the joy of tablet drawing! My personal favorite style has been distinctly influenced by H.R. Giger, which if you browse my gallery will be readily apparent. A friend of mine once described my style as 'morbid cartoons', a description I didn't like at the time, but over the years I have realized that it's a fitting term, and have even consciously cultivated the cartoony aspect of it in several pieces.
I used to tattoo, so I also draw flash from time to time, in time I plan to do some flash sheets for the print service, when I get around to it. Learning to draw for tattooing has inexorably altered my style in many ways. My sense of color contrast has been heightened, and I always think about colors for my pieces now in terms of cold and warm. My linework has also been affected, and I now use much bolder outlines than I used to.
As for my photography, most of the shots I take are stock. As a child I spent much of my time outdoors, exploring and examining nature, and often catching insects and lizards. It's something I've never really grown out of, but as an adult it manifests as my photography. Anything that captures the attention of my inner child, is in turn captured by my lens. I share most of these images with others as stock.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy my gallery, and if you like something leave a comment!Rules for using my stock:
You may use any of my stock for non-commercial use, both here on DA and elsewhere. Give me credit where due, if possible. I consider using them for prints a commercial use, since you're making money on them. I don't mind commercial use of my stock, but contact me first. I will most likely ask for little in return, perhaps some points donated or similar compensation, it just depends on how visible your artwork is and/or how prominent the work you want to use will be in your finished piece. I don't intend to be an ogre on this, I'm pretty flexible, so if you see something you want to use commercially, just ask.
